About Us
The Morning Star Korean Cultural Center began in 1985, under the direction
of Jiyeon Cheh, to teach Korean dance, music
and culture to children of Korean descent. Today, Morning Star Korean
Cultural Center has grown to be the largest Korean dance and music center
in the Pacific Northwest with over 60 students between the ages of 5
and 60 plus.
Our goal is to teach the heritage of Korean culture to
Korean adoptees, first and second generation Koreans and to share Korean dance
and music with the general public. We have performed at various community events,
schools and governmental ceremonies to promote awareness and provide opportunities
to appreciate the beauty of Korean culture.
Morning Star has been featured at more than 1200 events in the
U.S.A., Canada, Mexico, Japan, China, Australia, Mongolia,
Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium,
Uganda,
Tanzania,
Kenya, Vietnam, Myanmar,
and Korea, including our annual recitals in the Seattle area.
